CENTRAL PARK APARTMENT RENOVATION 2

In our second project in The Majestic, this 3,400sf apartment renovation occupies a full floor and is flooded with natural light throughout. Across the apartment, continuous corridors with linear sightlines offer unrestricted views of the city and Central Park. To keep the perimeter open, we consolidated closets, bathrooms, and back-of-house spaces into discrete volumes with different material expressions, using wood veneer, fluted plaster, and more.

Designed for a young family with a vast art collection, we aimed to create a gallery-like space and a flexible means of partitioning each room based on function, which led us to develop the pocket “art door” design. Each “art door” allows for additional dual-sided gallery space and gives the owners the option to seamlessly decide what’s on view.
