The concept behind the 2,000sf renovation and penthouse addition was to open up the existing low-sloped ceiling and cornice-lined windows of the fifth floor loft space to the light and spectacular views of lower Manhattan. A new glass and copper-clad penthouse addition was constructed on steel beams providing a valuable increase to the ceiling height of the fifth floor. This penthouse provides access to a limestone terrace and roof deck, where two strategically placed skylights scoop light down to the floor below.
