Gramercy Park Triplex - Projects - Baird Architects

GRAMERCY PARK TRIPLEX

Drawing from the building’s original 1929 Neo-Gothic architecture, our 3,000 square foot triplex renovation reinterprets the dark and weighty material language of the existing structure through a lighter treatment of the interior architectural elements. The project involved combining three apartments, posing the challenge of creating a sense of seamless continuity between the formerly independent spaces. We were able to achieve this by utilizing an elegant, reductive palette of materials and by drawing a continuous ribbon of vertical circulation throughout all three levels of living space.
