New York, New York

A 2500sf loft combination for a growing family in lower Manhattan inserts modern conveniences into an existing industrial envelope, leaving the character of the building intact. The vaulted ceilings, cast iron columns, and exposed brick walls highlight the building's past, while the custom walnut and blackened steel kitchen acts as a contemporary centerpiece for the open-plan living spaces. Private zones are carved out of expansive larger rooms using elevated floors and oversized sliding panels of blackened steel and restoration glass. Refined walnut single-paneled doors with antique bronze hardware complement and soften the industrial aesthetic.
